A word from Kirsty Gungor (Loveliesinmylife.com) Who Styled the shoot and Collaborated with Me, Eric of Eric M Schwanke Photography.
I loved collaborating with Eric on this stylized shoot and styling a gorgeous real life couple, Jessica and Jack. We shot this just a week before Jack went home to England after having spent a few months with his sweetheart Jessica, who lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin. So it was all the more sweet to be a part of making a memory for these two, who love each other an ocean apart. And this was a favorite for me simply because of the amazing colors and textures of the story, that sort of whimsy that gets me all starry eyed.
Eric and I decided a field of wildflowers would give us that perfect touch of dreamy romance on this midsummer’s eve and the ideas really sprang from that one moment, when our field was selected. I wanted to design an idyllic space to frame our couple and what’s more perfect than an al fresco bohemian picnic tucked into the lush, wild beauty of summer. I layered kilim rugs and pillows to create textures that felt comfortable while still being beautiful, adding an element of sparkle with Moroccan wedding blanket throws and pillows. It was the haphazard layering that created that bohemian vibe with little details like quartz rocks, antlers and daisies adding to the free spirit, gypsy bliss. For dinner
I kept things simple but chic, with a charcuterie board spread with cured meats like prosciutto and salami set alongside a pesto cheddar/Gruyere cheese. Paired with a sangria it was a delicious combination! And finally, our beautiful model Jessica wore this floor sweeping dress that stood out amongst the pale summer blooms. I wanted her to be the focus, a boldly deep red stunner with touches of gold around her neck and on her wrists.
As you can see, Jack and Jessica gave us many, many breath taking moments. It was a pleasure to be a part of.
